MLK Day of Service January 19, 2026

Everyone is encouraged to join us to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as we learn, share, and do together on Monday, January 19 from 12:00 - 2:30 PM at Elmont Memorial High School (555 Ridge Rd, Elmont, NY 11003).

This will be a collaborative program with Church of the Harvest, Elmont School District PTA and HERJC.  A complimentary lunch will be served, we will have messages from Rabbi Michel Schlesinger and Pastor Curtis Thompson and we will engage together in over 15 community service projects (making sandwiches, packing school supplies, sorting food and toiletries, writing cards, and MORE).   

We will be collecting donations of toiletries, school supplies, warm clothes, and non-perishable food that you can bring to HERJC or bring with you that day.   



Supplies needed:
- Non perishable food
- Winter hats, jackets, gloves - new and gently used
- Toiletries
- Individual snack items
- Womens sanitary supplies
- School supplies
- New baby supplies (i.e. diapers)
